The beautiful capital city of Portugal is Lisbon it’s steeped in history and one of the oldest cities in the world and the oldest in Western Europe. Here you can marvel at rich historical architecture from several different period times Romanesque, Gothic, Manueline, Beroque, Modern and Postmodern. Beautiful colourful buildings bring a rainbow of colours throughout this city also known as the City of the Seven Hills. The streets are not lined with gold, however; many of its pathways are mosaic and blends in superbly with the mosaic on the buildings. Lisbon’s airport is the Portela Airport located just 7km from the centre of Lisbon and with regular international flights it’s an ideal location for a holiday home property and Portugal is only a short haul flight from other European countries. Getting around is mainly via the Lisbon Metro and as the city has many steep hills and narrow streets, the electric trams are the perfect way to explore, its rail links are a great way to discover more of Portugal.

International flights to the Algarve are frequent and short haul from European countries and you would fly in to Faro airport which is located in Central Algarve. Faro is also home to a rich historic centre and don’t forget to visit its grand Cathedral.
